Which Dog Provides the Best Security Protection?

Dog SecurityWhile most people want dogs in their home because they love them as a family pet, they also do give many a sense of security. They feel that their beloved canine friend will perhaps give them some warning or form of protection against unwanted visitors.

There are many who do purchase dogs for their protective nature. In these cases they will seek out the big breed dogs that are known to be intimidating. However, even the little pooches can have a bark that is worse than their bite if the truth be known.

Many break in artists will avoid home with dogs even before seeing their actual size. They just don’t want the hassle of having to deal with a dog that is just barking let alone taking a nip at them.

One of the big problems is though that many families are away for the entire day and don’t think it is fair to leave a dog home alone for long periods of time. Or perhaps for the older generation they can no longer take care of a dog properly and for this reason they are reluctant to bring a dog into the home.

In these particular cases there is a great solution and that is Rex, the electronic dog. It requires no care like a real dog would but it certainly can act as a great deterrent for the would be criminal.

If you really do want a dog that is going to offer you some protection then you will need to check out the dog breeds that are best suited for this, however you have to be really careful with this type of dog that is being used for this purpose. A guard dog has to be monitored closely and trained properly.

If your family pet happens to be a natural protector then you are still going to have to use the same precautions that you do with a guard dog. Do remember that a criminal that is intent on getting past your canine friend may try to do so with tempting the dog with food. With a little bit of time and some good training you can teach your dog not to accept food from strangers.
