Great Security for the Family Kids

security for the family kidsWhile we want to have good security measures within our homes to protect our assets, the priority is personal protection for our family. When there are small children in the home the need for protection seems to be even greater as these little ones are often too trusting when it comes to someone coming to the door or on the property.

Everyone needs to know that their children are safe in their home environment and there are some additional steps that you can add to your home security to help with this.

During the summer months we often like to leave our windows open to allow the fresh air in. The nights can become hot and stuffy, but at the same time we don’t want open windows creating an invitation for intruders to enter. You may want to consider a screen alarm. It is unnoticeable yet at the first signs of tampering with the screen it will trigger the alarm.

Many times parents worry about their children’s bedroom being on the main level of the home and are concerned about the windows being vulnerable to break in. Applying window film to these is a sure way of adding extra protection. This coating prevents window breakage making it tough for any intruder to enter the home in this manner. It is almost invisible so it doesn’t make your home look like a fortress. It is affordable and easily installed. It will give you great peace of mind in knowing that you have added extra protection to your windows that you can count on.

Some individuals have items in the home that they want to keep under lock and key.  This isn’t always easy to find such a place within the home that the children can’t get access to. You may want to think about using a device like kee-block where you can lock items such as this in a room then prevent anyone who may have access to the key from opening it.

It is important to teach the children to be security conscious yet you don’t want to make them fearful. By teaching them to use the intercom system in a positive way, it will instill the practice of not opening the door whenever anyone arrives.

An additional security feature that you can add to your home as well is the driveway alert. This way you are going to know when someone has entered your driveway and should be coming to your door.
