How Does Monitoring Work?

A security system installed in your home or business can communicates with our 24-hour monitoring center through ordinary telephone lines or, alternatively, through a cellular long range radio or direct internet connection.  The direct phone line connection bundled with Long Range Radio is the most reliable method of communication to insure you have line backup in the event of intruder sabotage methods used prior to entry of your home.

You simply turn on your system by entering your digital code when you want us to monitor entry to your location. Security devices of the system can include door and window contacts, passive infrared motion detectors and glass breakage detectors that literally listen for the frequency glass makes when it is smashed during forced entry to your home or business.  These components may be hard-wired to your alarm panel or wireless depending on your unique needs and level of security you require for your home or business.

In addition to entry detection which occurs when you turn on your security system, you may also have "emergency panic buttons" which may be activated irrespective of whether or not the system has been armed 24/7.  An alarm incident results in an immediate seizure of the telephone line to transmit the signal to the monitoring station in tandem to your radio backup transmission if you also subscribe to long range radio backup.

When we receive an alarm signal from your system, we immediately will contact the premises to determine if all is okay or allow you to transmit an abort cancel code that can be activated at the time of installation to avoid false alarms that can be activated from your keypad to stop dispatch efforts in their tracks.
